Nora Went From Recovery to Results

When she first came to Inclusive Fitness, Nora’s family knew stepping down the stairs could be risky.
Recovering from major knee surgery — ACL, MCL, and PCL repairs — and still managing the effects of past injuries, she was focused on regaining strength and stability. Her family’s biggest hope was simple: to keep her safe.

Progress Fueled by Hard Work

In those early days, workouts were slow and intentional. Squats required a high box to limit her range of motion and protect her knees. Some days felt harder than others, but Nora kept showing up, bringing her determination — and her sense of humor — with her.

Little by little, her range improved. The squat box was lowered. Her balance improved. Weights were increased. Movements that once felt risky became part of her weekly routine. When asked what keeps her coming back, Nora doesn’t overthink it.
“Because I’m proud of myself,” she says, smiling.

Jay, one of her coaches, says, “She’s been extremely consistent from day one. She brings energy, positivity, and a sense of fun to every session. Honestly, I don’t laugh more with anyone else.”

In between exercises, Nora tells stories — especially about her horse, Fluffy Tony.

“She lights up when she talks about horseback riding,” says Coach Jay. “It’s part of what makes working with her so rewarding — seeing the full person, not just the athlete.”

Results That Show

Coach Jay smiles when he talks about Nora’s progress: the squats, the powerful bag drags, the stability and control that carry over into daily life.

Her mom, Laurie, sees it too.
“She’s so much stronger and more stable now,” Laurie says. “The safety concerns we used to have aren’t front and center anymore. It’s been amazing to watch.”

The wins aren’t measured in significant milestones alone — they show up in small, everyday ways. Walking across uneven ground without hesitation. Carrying herself with pride. Laughing between sets without worrying about the next movement.

Why Nora Loves Inclusive Fitness

For Nora, fitness is woven into something bigger — connection, pride, and fun.
When asked what keeps her coming back, she puts it simply:
“I like that I feel proud here. And it’s fun.”
Then she adds with a grin: “It’s the people. They help me and cheer me on.”

Her family has seen the impact, too.
“This has given her a full life with lots of activities — and we want to keep that going,” Laurie says.
